Elk in the Red Canyon Wildlife Preserve
The Red Canyon, formed over 60 million years ago, is located in the Southern Wind River Mountains, just outside of Lander, WY. This canyon is also an important elk habitat, where up to 650 elk live over the winter alongside other animals such as pronghorns, mule deer, moose, and a variety of birds.Elk in the Red Canyon Wildlife Preserve
